How to Get Rid of Phlegm and Mucus in Chest & Throat (Instant Result)

Honey and Lemon
Lemons abound in vitamin C, a vitamin that can successfully treat congestion and boost your immune system. Honey on the other hand has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties and can seed up the healing process. If we combine both ingredients, we’ll get a powerful mixture that will defeat all germs and bacteria in our respiratory system.
To prepare this remedy you’ll need:
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. raw honey
Combine the honey and the lemon juice in a small bowl and consume this remedy 3 times a day.
ACV
Apple cider vinegar is the most powerful antibacterial agent in the world. It can also balance out your pH values and prevent mucus accumulation. Just add a spoonful of ACV in a glass of water, stir to combine and drink this remedy every day. Yu can also use this solution to gargle and rinse your throat.


Ginger
Ginger is very effective in eliminating chest and throat accumulation thanks to its potent expectorant and antibacterial properties. It can also act as a natural decongestant and antihistamine. Just make sure you eat ginger on a daily basis and drink the following ginger tea 2 times a day:
  • 1 tsp. of honey
  • 6-7 ginger slices
  • 1tsp. black peppercorn
  • 2 cups of water
Bring the water to a boil and add the peppercorns and ginger in it. Cover the mixture and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes. Set it aside, strain the liquid and once it’s cooled down add the honey.
Turmeric
Turmeric is also a powerful antibacterial agent, super-efficient against all kinds of respiratory problems, thanks to its active ingredient curcumin.
Here’s how you can consume turmeric to fight respiratory diseases:
  • 1tsp. turmeric
  • 1 glass of warm water
  • ½ a tsp. of salt
Fill a glass with warm water, add the turmeric and the salt and stir to combine. Use this solution to gargle a couple of minutes and repeat it a few times a day for best results.
Steaming
Steaming is an excellent technique for all types of respiratory conditions and can effectively help you get rid of accumulated phlegm and mucus in the lungs. You can steam with plain water, inhale the vapor and clear up your throat and lungs, or for even better results add some soothing herbs in the water.
Here’s what you’ll need
  • 4 cups water
  • ½ tsp. dry rosemary
  • ½ tsp. thyme
Bring the water to a boil and add the herbs. Let them infuse for a minute or two and lean in over the steaming pot, with your head covered with a towel so that the steam doesn’t get out. Be careful not to lean in too close and burn your face. Inhale the herb-infused steam and repeat the process a few times a day.
Additional advices:
  • Don’t drink anything cold
  • Blow your nose regularly when you feel the need for it
  • Stop smoking
  • Use an air-humidifier at home to prevent mucus accumulation
  • Avoid breathing in paint, fumes and other chemicals
  • If you notice mucus in your throat don’t swallow it, gargle with salty water and spit it out
  • To thin out the accumulated mucus consume spicy, hot food, like hot peppers and garlic
