New research reveals that of ginger in reducing pain as effective as painkillers, such as ibuprofen. While ibuprofen is one of the most popular drugs for pain, this research, which is published in the journal Arthritis, shows that it does not reduce the level of cytokines in the body.


Cytokines may be negative and the positive and negative types are substances that spread inflammation in the body, and studies have shown that they are associated with worsening of the symptoms of arthritis and osteoarthritis.




"Ginger is known for its excellent healing properties, and this research it reaffirms" said lead researcher Dr. Krishna C. Srivastava.

Previous studies have shown that pain medication can increase the risk of various health problems, including vision problems, the accumulation of excess weight, shortness of breath, depression, cardiac arrhythmia, muscle weakness, high blood pressure, headaches, anxiety, chest pain, problems sleeping, acne, slow wound healing and many others.


Ginger has proven anti-inflammatory activity and significantly decreased levels of cytokines in the body. What are the harmful effects are concerned, it is necessary to follow the instructions of doctors or specialists because some studies have shown that excessive intake of ginger can have harmful effects on the digestive system.

How to consume: 
Chopped raw ginger add to soups, stews or sauces.
Add ginger in the juicer while preparing juices.
Look for supplements of ginger, generally come in capsule form.
Cook raw ginger in water for about 45 minutes, then drink as a hot or cold tea.
